Krigsfilmen leder soleklart BAFTA-nomineringene. Nærmest kommer The Banshees of Inisherin og Everything Everywhere All at Once som hver plukker 10 nominasjoner.

All Quiet on the Western Front, Edward Bergers Netflix-drama om en idealistisk tysk soldat som er sendt til skyttergravene under første verdenskrig, har i soleklar nominasjonsledelse ved årets British Academy of Film and Television Awards.

Filmen er nominert til 14 priser, inkludert beste film, regissør, birolle og adapterte manus.

45 filmer fikk nominasjoner torsdag, da kortlistene ble annonsert av skuespillerne Hayley Atwell og Toheeb Jimoh.

Sammen med All Quiet on the Western Front på listen er Martin McDonaghs svarte komedie The Banshees of Inisherin, Baz Luhrmanns  biografi Elvis, Daniels sprø multivers-epos Everything Everywhere All at Once og Todd Fields kompromissløse drama Tár.

Everything Everywhere All at Once har vært både en kommersiell og kritiker hit. Den vant beste skuespillerinne i en komedie eller musikal for Michelle Yeoh på Golden Globes forrige uke, samt beste mannlige birolle for Ke Huy Quan.

Både den og The Banshees of Inisherin, som vant Globe for beste komedie eller musikal, har plukket opp 10 Bafta-nominasjoner; Vinneren av Globe for beste drama – Steven Spielbergs The Fabelmans – fikk imidlertid bare én Bafta-nominasjon, for originalmanus.

Alle tre filmene er blant Oscar-favorittene når kortlisten offentliggjøres førstkommende tirsdag.

Seks menn står på listen over beste regissører: Berger, McDonagh, Daniel Kwan og Daniel Scheinert, Field og Park Chan-Wook for Decision to Leave.

Gina Prince-Bythewood, som har laget The Woman King, er den eneste kvinnen på kortlisten.
